Curaçao: Half Day Catamaran Snorkel Trip with BBQ

If you like snorkeling and cruising around on a catamaran, then this is the trip for you!

Every Friday the catamaran departs at 10:00 AM sharp for the 3-in-1 snorkeling trip. The catamaran departs from Mood Beach at the Mambo Blvd and will cruise to 3 beautiful snorkeling spots!

The first snorkeling spot is the Tugboat Saba Wreck. The tugboat and the entire reef is covered in beautiful corals and sponges and is home to a wide variety of marine life. This snorkeling spot is located close to Jan Thiel and is only accessible by boat, which makes this spot even more special. Keep an eye out on the way to this first snorkeling spot, there’s a chance you might spot dolphins!

The second snorkeling spot is the popular Tugboat Wreck at Caracasbaai. This 9 meter long wreck is located right in front of the cliffs housing the Quarantine & Slave Hospital ruins. This tugboat sank because of an anchor mishap, and now lies just 5 meters below the water’s surface. Over the years, this wreck has become a vibrant habitat for a variety of marine life, including fish, corals, eels, and octopus, making it a perfect snorkeling spot.

The third snorkeling spot is another gem in Caracasbaai. Here, you can explore around the pier and an offshore drilling station, where, surprisingly enough, you’ll discover beautiful snorkeling spots and also see a variety of fish, corals and other marine life.

While you’re snorkeling, the crew will prepare a BBQ lunch to be served on board. When you’re done snorkeling, you can enjoy a drink on board, chill on the catamaran nets and enjoy the view of the historic Fort Beekenburg.

For the last part of this trip, the catamaran will set sail towards Barbara Beach and will cruise around the exclusive Spanish Waters. This area holds significant historical importance, having been utilized by the indigenous Arawaks and later by the Spanish conquerors, leading to the construction of Fort Beekenburg. Nowadays, this bay is home to many boats and yachts, and you’ll see beautiful villas and beachfront mansions, and of course, the best view of the ‘Tafelberg’.

After the tour around the Spanish Waters, the catamaran will sail back to Mood Beach, arriving at around 3:30 PM.
